"Such Good People" a movie coming out this month looks like a hoot. If you wondered what Queer as Folk’s Randy Harrison looks these days I would say he is looking pretty darn good. Also appearing is Michael Urie, Scott Wolf, Lance Bass and Alec Mapa. Looks like a lot of fun

Looks funny, a nice change from all the sad dramatic gay movies out there.

Wow... there's so much gay in that series I am getting gay diabetes! LOL JK :D

Finally, a gay movie where it's not based on making someone love you only to lose them in an overly dramatic blase boring droning repetitive way, or where the comedy isn't cliche and all about getting naked.

I really will have to check that out.

What's up with the post title and subject matter not matching?

Poor Randy Harrison, forever stuck in bad gay movie hell.

While all gay movies can't be quality films like Angels in America, Blue is the Warmest Color or The Normal Heart, it's disheartening that in 2014 fluff like this is still being produced. Just being a gay-themed movie is no longer enough. Looks like only way this was completed was using crowdfunding sources such as kickstarter and indieagogo.

A disappointment at this years Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. At best a fast-forward flick on Netflix.

So what constitutes a "good" gay movie? Because all the ones I've seen announced as good are basically overly done romance novel drivel with heartbreak or death as the reward, or cheesy comedies with the hope of nudity.

You Sir are correct. The majority of gay-themed movies are as you described including this one.

As far as what constitutes a "good" gay film I say read reviews from sources you trust and that are aligned with your tastes. The same with friends who's opinions you trust.

There are plenty of posts here on jub about gay films. You're going to have to dig thru lots of mediocrity but I'm sure you'll find some gems.

Oh, I was really asking, rather than simply critiquing. I don't really know who to read as far as an online source(I trust the Advocate as much as I do GLAAD, which is to say I don't), and here specifically, you only get one of the two, and I've watched enough of both to know those aren't the movies I want to see from a heterosexual perspective(Bad Johnson, I believe was the last cheesy comedy with the hope of nudity I watched), much less a gay one. I was hoping that this would be something wholly different, or, at the least, would break the mold up a bit.

Finally a Gay film that doesn't look like it was shot on someone's phone or old school camcorder lol. This looks like silly nonsense but hell there are films like these around "straight" couples, take it at what it is a silly film that happens to have gay leads.
