to JUB... JUB doesn't have a chat function on herewhere can you find those good old chat rooms? any suggestions?
Welcome to JUB. There was a chat room on the site back in the day, but it was closed down years ago - as part of one of the periodic IT "upgrades" I think.

It wasn't an upgrade. It was discontinued because of low usage and the requirement to have a moderator monitoring it.
The chatroom on JUB was created back when it was a novel feature. Over time, MSN, ICQ and other chat platforms became more popular and usage of the JUB chatroom dropped. This was also at a time when we had a lot of underage people trying to hang out at JUB which required a moderator to be online to ban them from the site.
