New Linkin Park album - Minutes to Midnight

I had downloaded What I've Done weeks ago and had high hopes for the album due to that track being awsome. But the rest of the album isn't that good compared to previous albums. there is hardly any screaming, or metal sounds, it's such an emo album.

i mean it's not entirely terrible, just not great by linkin park standards. it's def their worst album! The tracks: Given Up and What I've Done are pure quality.

but AOR ballads? really!

I also got the new Funeral for a Friend album, it's pretty good. Not as good as Casually Dressed and Deep In Conversation, but then again not much is!!!

While the album was different from the others I still liked it. I know my friends are probably happy that I am giving my nine inch nails cd a break for something else.lol

I haven't listened to it yet, but thanks for the heads up. I've been downloading too many albums lately out of faith that my favorite artists won't let me down, but they sure as hell are. Whatever happened to Great Music?

Great music is still out there, but I think we're starting to look for a "savior". We're not just looking for good songs, we're looking for bands to throw our alleigance behind. But I think those days are behind me.

I remember how I listened to nothing else but their first album for about a year when it first came out. Its ace, but I must have been a tiny weeny bit mentally ill. And then I went and saw them live, found out I was the oldest person there by about 5 years (I was only 25) and felt a bit weird, like I'd been watching donkey porn or something.

I liked (not loved) Hybrid Theory, but didn't get Meteora or Reanimation, but from what I've heard of it it's pretty good. And yeah it's got emo issues, but they're still a lot better than most at it.

bendyjoe, I've been at concerts where I've been the oldest by 2 or 3 times - what the fuck, who cares - it can be a little disconcerting at first but I'm there to hear what I want to hear and I figure others my age aren't there because they died before they got old

As I said, trying something new is admirable. I just wish the results were any good, because frankly, they sound lost to me.

loving it myself in particular tracks 2, 5 thru 8 for sure. I like the statements the make it a few of the songs. Also enjoy that they did try something different. I like the one song that Mike starts rapping on with the hot beat..its crazy addictive. Been listening to this cd since last week.

I think Linkin Park should have given up.. they just don't have it anymore.. I mean have you seen MTV lately.. they built a cyber SIM-like world with Linkin Park in it... could it be more commercial...

I liked them a lot in middle school, but now, all I can do is listen to a couple songs from Hybrid and Meteora and giggle a bit... there was nothing in either album that stood the test of time, nothing outstanding... just teen rock IMO.

They just weren't that great.. and the new song doesn't even match with the old at all.
