Burnouts Are For Kids
Goodbye Spain
I’m wasting away in this one horse town
It’s barely nine when the lights go down
Sometimes it’s nice to have a calm quiet night
But it’s better to be somewhere a little more bright
So I sit alone in my room, a pink pen in hand
Trying to write myself away from this land
Sitting on the side of A1A
Maybe I’m scared, maybe I don’t know
It’s harder done than said but I must say
Goodbye to Spain
We’re wasting away in this one horse town
Wondering how to pass the time we’ve found
We wait and wait for the crowds to show
But the lords of the dollar have cut our blood flow
And there’s a line of empty carriages on the side of the road
Their drivers stand idle, brushing the tired horses’ noses
Sitting on the side of A1A
Maybe I’m scared, maybe I don’t know
It’s harder done than said but I must say
Goodbye to Spain
I’m wasting away in this one horse town
Where I’m not moving forward and I feel like a clown
Where the only things to do are smoke and drink
And if you don’t smoke, what will they all think?
There’s only one season and it never gets cold
So the kids never grow, they only get old
And they all know each other and all fuck around
So I’m getting the hell out of this one horse town
I’m wasting away in this one horse town
It’s barely nine when the lights go down
Sometimes it’s nice to have a calm quiet night
But it’s better to be somewhere a little more bright
So I sit alone in my room, a pink pen in hand
Trying to write myself away from this land
Sitting on the side of A1A
