New NHL rule.

Oh it was Sean Avery. What more does one have to say? Except that I don't recall the Habs winning a Stanley Cup in the last 15 years, so, yeah, whatever Shep.

Andre, you know I love you. No offense meant to the Habs, truly. But great hockey is played south of the border, too.

i agree with the NHL in establishing the rule immediately. my guess that the only reason Avery scored the goal he did is that the had already distracted the goalie with his prior antics and the goalie was most likely expecting more.

Just my two cents, and in typical canuck fashion I don't want to offend any Americans but great hockey is played on both sides of the border...

by Canadians.

Avery, the guy who said racial slurs right to Jarome Iginla's face.

I had only heard about it at first, but after seeing it, I am glad the NHL made a new rule afterwards, and I hope karma comes back to bite Avery in the ass.

What makes hockey different than the NBA, Baseball, Football etc, is the sportsmanship and the respect. After every series each team skates in a line-up and shakes each others hand. Jarome Iginla even gathered the Flames together after the last game of the season in vancouver to shake Linden's hand. Showing respect for his career that probably ended that night.

Punks like Avery and Ruutu have no place in this game.

I think it says something when even a divealanche fan hates Avery. :p

The real test of hockey supremacy will come in May when the World Championship is played. If you have a sports package you'll be able to tune in and watch Canada kick ass, again.

Too bad they will be without the services of Jarome Iginla, Dion Phaneuf, and Robyn Regehr.
