Hi,

I have changed all my passwords on all my sites, email servers etc. Everything. My original was about 6 letters and my new one about 17 letters.

When I recreated my mail Profile in Outlook (after I changed it on www.hotmail.com) and put my new password in, and then tried opening Outlook, it kept prompting me for my password, over and over again.

I got sick of this, so went back to hotmail.com and changed my password back to my original one. I then changed this in the Mail Profile and then it worked.

Later, I tried alterning my password in hotmail.com and Outlook again, yielding the same result - password prompt.

Please remember, I created this profile from scratch after having to delete my old one so why should this new password pose a problem to a new profile?

Thanks

at some time there was a limit to hotmail passwords. like only the first 8 characters counted. i BELIEVE they removed that .. but maybe they still have it? i be shocked if it is still like that ;) try using onyl the first 8 10 12 digits of your hotmail password in your outlook pasword

Hey, thanks, I tried putting the first 8 letters from the 17 in the Outlook profile, however that also did not work. I just changed it back to my original password and it worked again...! This is so weird!

Haha very clever :) I meant, when I said 'it worked' that it happened again, ie. it would not accept my new password. Back to square one! ;)
