She did pretty well considering that, unlike most contestants, she's a quite talented and polished voice, and the song had nothing of the average swinging Eurovision appeal.
Honest, well-sung songs are usually well-appreciated in Eurovision, even if not considered winners: I remember one Rumanian or something like that song sung by two fat opera singers which was among the first a few years ago. On the other hand, those who "try too hard", as is the German case the past years, or Spain this year (last year it was a sort of spoof of a song but it was better in every single respect) are bound to hit the dust.
 
Well, I'm in the U.S. but I watch Eurovision on TVE with Cable Latino. Personally I thought the best performance was from Moldova. It was a cute song and I loved how ethnic it was with the little patterns they used on the stage and the corny music. If theres one thing that bothers me about Eurovision is all the English songs. Honestly, I think each country should have to sing in their native language. I hated how Spain this year tried to join the bandwagon and sang in Spanglish. I also thought the song from the U.K. was boring and the singer was nothing more than a Leona Lewis rip-off.

There were a few other countries I like though. Croatia was really good. I liked the melody of the song and the guy singing was super cute. Speaking of cute what the hell happened to Sakis Rouvas? The years have not been kind to him. It looks like he got some bad plastic surgery done. Now, since I'm back on a negative subject what the hell was up with Portugals performance? The stage had that hideous 1960's hippie pattern and the band members seemed like they were high. I noticed the guy on the drum was dancing along to some non-existent beat and the guy on the ukalelie had this stupid look on his face the whole time. Germany's performance was cute but it was just completely American although I think thats their "thing" at Eurovision. Didn't they do some country song two years ago? Also, Russia's song wasn't great but I liked the performance how they slowly aged the girl on the screen. At first when I started noticing some wrinkles on her face I though the girl looked really bad for her age.

Let's see what else.... Sweden! That woman looked like a fucking giant refrigerator all dressed in white. Talk about stereotypical looks. The singer was just too big and distracting and the song was horrible. I'm no expert on singing but that performance just didn't sound right to me. Finally let me end with the winner, Norway. Honestly, I didn't think the performance was THAT great but I can see why they won. The singer although he wasn't hot or even cute he had his charm and the song went along with his age and look. It was nice but I like I said I thought Moldova was the best.

Music business. Some of them can sing, some are more or less boring, but ultimately it's all crap. But being talented at doing crap is a talent after all, like with Madonna: and you have to admit that. Leona Lewis is a rip-off herself... of Whitney Houston of whomever.
The case of Sweden is particularly funny, since they pride themselves as connoisseurs in pop music because of ABBA, which is like priding yourself in discerning poop smells... and since they won the contest again like ten yeas ago, they actually think they are entitled to be entitled to judge poop. The worst about the contestant was the orange self-tanner: German and Nordic people look so funny and sometimes even cute with that make-up... but since the fashion is lighter tones, orange is not so cool as café au lait.
 
I think that dance mix suits it much better. It has a certain gay club anthem sound to it. Although I don't like the way they've speeded up her voice a tad.

I don't get the whole Leona clone thing. Just because she has a powerful voice & similar colour skin. How is she supposed to change all that? She didn't even choose the song either.
