Ignore the mess, In the middle of a huge remodel, shit is all over the place. But anyway.

New set up is a Samsung 67" DLP. Computer that "runs" the TV stuff is a Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H Motherboard

Running 4GB of RAM and Win7 64bit.

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 ATSC/ClearQAM/NTSC TV Tuner, with FM

Radeon 4650 Graphics Card

Onkyo surround sound reviver in 7.1 Add on amp for the 2 subs(might be the reason shit falls off the walls :D )

Mostly it's all way over kill. But 1080p movie look great/sound great.

A tear came to my eye. If only I had the room (and the money). As Atreyul said above, "fucking beautiful".

Bet you are going to love the Samsung DLP.:=D:..|:=D:

I just had to replace the 'tube' with over 8000 hours

and it was still working, just not as Sharp as when new.

The tech even said I got almost double the hours it is

rated for. He couldn't believe it at first. New tube and it is

as sharp and clear as day one. Guess you know what I will be

replacing the next of my other sets with when the time comes.

That's a great setup you have there!
What baffles me is why so few people think about integrating today's large screen, hi-res TV's into their computer systems.
It can be done on a modest budget too!

I have a dirt cheap ($400) refurb HP Pavilion PC purchased in late 2008

Athlon 64x2 dual core 2.6Ghz processor
4 gigs RAM
DVD Writer, yada yada...
Vista 64bit home premium

Bought a cheap graphics card for the DVI output (NVidia 8400GS).
Had some USB keyboards and mice laying around (I don't trust wireless) so all I needed were some extension cables. It also helps that my TV and PC are on opposite sides of the same wall.
I also have the audio connected to the surround system so its like having an armchair jukebox!
Total cost for graphics card and various adapters/cables: <$100

Here it is on the 50" plasma...

Like I don't spend enough time behind the stinking

monitor with a tiny 21" screen and shitty speakers.

I get your point. My main computer and desk is in the same room. Hell have 10-12 towers and 3-5 laptops in the house at any one time.(I do networking and computer support for a living) Ever room in the house has 2 cat5e drops(even the bathroom)(well this room and my home office have 5-6 drops. Fiber will be coming soon. I will use the computer on TV for web like stuff but nut much. Main computer monitor is a 23" LCD, more then enough for most stuff.

I agree- a few months back I bought a 52" Samsung LCD, hung it on wall, and use it for television and as my computer monitor. I have the cables running within the wall so it all looks clean, especially with the wireless mouse and keyboard.

Next step is to upgrade to an all-in-wonder or something so I can have the high def TV signal coming through the computer.

Something like that might be nice if one wanted to use their hard drive as a DVR.
But for me the DishDVR works great for that purpose. Besides, a keyboard and mouse are no substitute for the good old fashioned remote.

Very nice.. working on geeking out my house myself. I plan to move all computers and media centers to a closet and run hdmi out from there. Add on a capture card and really any TV or monitor in the house is capable of video. The days of TVs and Computer monitors being separate devices is over.

Replaced the 8400GS with a 9800GT along with a 450 watt power supply (another $75 total).
Now I can play modern PC games at reasonable frame rates.:-)
