well there are a few like shelter, but its very limited.
So i wrote a gay love story, and I think it turned out pretty good.
And Im thinking about taking it to my local film studio and letting them read it to see if its any good.... i don't wanna give to much of it away for certain reasons, but lets just say its a very heart wrenching, drama filled, sad ending love story.

best of luck with your love story... for me TORCH SONG TRILOGY; LILLIES; GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN; BIG EDEN; THE TRIP; TRICK are a few of my fav GOOD gay movies

Personally, my favorite gay movie is Were the World Mine. But good luck and great journeys, hope to see your movie soon enough.

You'll find that most of the best gay films come from other countries. Unfortunately, many of the American gay films seem to be centered around West Hollywood with poor scripts, poor acting, and themes built around the idea of trying to impress everyone. The better American gay films tend to be short films that are included on DVDs with titles such as Men's Shorts, Boys Life, Men's Mix, etc. Among the feature length foreign gay films that are excellent and that you can usually find on Netflix are Strawberries and Chocolate, Bulgarian Lovers, Yossi and Jagger, My Beautiful Laundrette, Bad Education, Burnt Money, Grande Ecole, Summer Storm, Steam: Turkish Bath, Patrik 1.5, The Man I Love, You'll Get Over It, Walk on Water, Beautiful Thing, C.R.A.Z.Y., Come Undone, The Bubble, Saturn in Opposition, Plan B, His Secret Life, Undertow, Leo's Room, etc. If you order these on Netflix, you'll see other titles pop up that are similar, and you can judge from their descriptions and their ratings whether they might appeal to you.

I have watch a lot of gay movies.... the worst gay movies tend to be made in America (a faew good ones). For a good gay movie, watch world cinema, yes subtitles but a lot of them don't play into gay clichés.

There are some that are really good. Personally I really like Trick and Amphetamine.

Shelter is the best one! No gang bangs/Drugs/Cheating. It's truly a great movie.

There are some cute TV shows/series on youtube and DTLA just came out.

Dats a great movie. Also the film Weekend was some real stuff, I'd say that's my favorite.

I agree though I would go further and say Angels in America might be one of the best movies ever made bar none.

A few others...Its My Party and Torch Song Trilogy both broke my heart a little bit....

Tales of the City is my sentimental favorite...good central gay characters and storyline...

TransAmerica and Victor/Victoria are both excellent ways to spend a couple hours.

I quite liked Israel's Yossi and Jagger and China's Lesbian themed movie Saving Face is a great ride...

To the OP...good luck with your vision!
