  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

No Triceratops. :(

Jeesus, people, read the article.

Triceratops is NOT going away. It was described first and so gets naming rights. If this turns out to be correct, it's Torosaurus that will be abolished.

^^^ lol yeah caught that too

But to be on the same page as everyone else on this thread

This is blasphemy!

This is why I approach EVERY "fact of life" with skepticism. It worries and excites me to look at everything I see and know, and realize that a week later or 20 years later a completely opposite truth might be revealed. I'm still holding out on the hope that a a diet high in sugar and fat is actually NOT unhealthy, rather a scapegoat for an unidentified (and evil) culprit.

Well I'm gonna fire me up this big fat doobie-o-saurus and drink a little bit of this Jack Daniels and watch whatever shark is on the Discovery channel.

It didn't "never exist", they are just renaming it.

The same thing happened with brontosaurus. Someone had discovered a skeleton or bones and thought it was a new species but it was already one they had previously found.

The article I read before I came here didn't mention that. I feel so much better now.

Fuck this. I'm not accepting this article.

GO BLUE RANGER !

Frankly I never believed half of all the bs that paleontologists come up with from just a few bones. It all makes interesting viewing on the Discovery channel how they show very detailed how dinosaurs lived, but I'm not sure I can take it all as fact.

am I the only one who liked Torosaurus better than Triceratops?

Now there's two emotions fighting each other within: 1. I kind of feel superior, because Torosaurus is the grown up version. I knew he was better :) but 2. I'm sad Torosaurus will "no longer exist" :( just some old Triceratops..
