The reason your Halloween 'I got lucky' thread caused so much annoyance was the fact that you seemed not to consider your drunk driving to be a serious issue. Given that you now tell us that you lost your brother due to his drunk driving and you are clearly still suffering great grief due to this, something for which I sympathise, the two postings together smack of gross hypocrisy. And to be perfectly honest, the sympathy I have for your loss would be none existent had your brother crashed into a pedestrian or a car full of people rather than a tree.

Occasional DUI is not an 'oops, my bad' issue, it is an act of gross irresponsibility, something to be ashamed of rather than laughed off.

It would be no way to honor your dead brother by joining him in the same fate.
