Hello all,

Anyone interested in doing a JUB meet at Shea Stadium this summer? A few of us Mets fans would like to get together and make it an outing, so if anyone else is interested in seeing a game, having a few beers and dogs and seeing Shea Stadium one more time before the Mets move to Citi Field next year, please reply below.

And to all Yankees fans, you are more than welcome to join us. I'll be happy to go to a Yanks game with you before the end of the season as well.

If the Mets are playing the Cardinals, I'd be there in a heart beat :D

(although, should I be scared to wear a Cardinal shirt after what happened in 2006? :p Is Carlos still standing at the plate?)

New York is the shit.

A NY JUB meet would be great, but I am really not interested in a baseball game. Sorry.

Cards only play Mets twice this year(regular season);)Monday,June 30-Thursday July 3 at St. Louis, and Friday,July25-Sunday,July 27 at Shea.
I'm not very happy tonight, but thankfully I missed it.We got sucky starting AND relief pitching tonight.

Cards beat the Mets fair and square in 2006...Beltran frozen with a called strikeout still etched in my mind:cry:But we'd have your back just in case!;)

I'm interested, but don't know yet if I could do it with so many vacations around that time....a maybe for now.

Ditto for me - I'm not too interested in baseball. Might drop in, but it's just not my thing. And I'd need to be really specific about when, or else I'd struggle to get to it, being English and all (I'm in Harriman state park this summer though).

As for the 25th-27th of July... well, I'm at Warped tour on the 26th, so that might be awkward.

A NYC Jub Meet would be great, let's organize this one!

Ooooh! I'm in Philadelphia but that sounds like fun. Let me know, too, if this happens.

I've been to Shea before. Long ago, I lived in central New Jersey and some product (I believe it was candy) offered free admission to the Mets if you brought wrappers to the box office. Of course I went!

But there was a serious gap in my baseball knowledge. I'd been to Yankee Stadium for the Gay Games closing ceremonies in 1996...but I'd never been there for a game. On a cold, cold, cold Friday, May 3, I went and saw the Yanks beat Seattle.

I can see why they'd want a new stadium. The amenities are limited. But, oh, man, the sense of tradition at old Yankee Stadium is priceless. And the field. Pure classic baseball.

Mets r playing for shit lately

could be like a morgue by the time we go

haha

but i would be interested
