Official 88th Annual Academy Awards (2016 Oscars) Thread

The nominees have yet to be announced, but that day is quickly approaching THURSDAY JAN 14th where actor John Krasinski, Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, and filmmakers Guillermo del Toro and Ang Lee will be on hand to announce just who will be in the running for the 2016 Oscars. The 88th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live by ABC at 7e|4p. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.

I hope Sylvester Stallone wins for Creed.

I was so disappointed that Will Smith was not nominated for "Concussion." His performance and transformation were great!

The academy is a bunch of old white guys! What do they know!

So many snubs and movies that were overlooked.

Of all the movies that came out this year, Joy was the only one I really enjoyed. Im so disappointed that it didnt get nominated for a lot cuz it deserved to.

I want Stallone to win for Creed.

I think Stallone deserves to win for "Creed." I also think it is long overdue for Leonardo DiCaprio to finally get his first Oscar! He has been in some great movies and given some great acting performances over the years!

I like Chris Rock and he was funny. But they overdid the Oscarsowhite. I thought Will Smith was excellent in "Concussion" and Michael B. Jordan was great in "Creed."

I felt uncomfortable many times for the audience, which was a large chunk of "The Academy" but they got what they deserve. Chris Rock was amazing and spot on.
