*or something even worse - anal warts?

Please, I know this is gross, but that's just the way it is.

There is something back there and it will be a few days before I can get it checked out.

Anyways, how can I tell my bf that I can't have sex with him? I don't want to hurt his feelings but don't want to tell him the truth either!

He is a top so likes to fuck, and I'm scared he'll notice. So I may have to put him off until I get this cleared up, could be talking weeks here.

Obviously if I have something contagious I will have to let him know, but until I know what I have I don't want to say anything. I have never had unprotected anal with anyone else but him. We both have fun on the side but always use condoms for anal.

Anyone know a good way to tell the difference between 'roids and warts? I don't have any pain. I have heard bad outcomes either way, apparently you can never get rid of either condition!

Thanks for any help, sorry if I grossed anyone out, and please don't be too mean!oops!

If he's your boyfriend he'll understand. If he doesn't, he's an ass that you should get rid of quick.

Just tell him the truth and suck him off.

Wherever did you hear that one can never be rid of hemorrhoids ?

The best way to tell the difference is to get examined and treated by a medical professional. In most cases, hemorrhoidal symptoms will go away within a few days.

Get thee to thy physician post-haste .

Back up a bit and explain why you thing you have "something back there".

What symptoms are you having?

LOL. I do that too, I'm just afraid he'll try to finger me or something and I don't want to have to bat him away. I'm sure he would understand; it's me who has the problem - as in I'd rather not lose my dignity if you understand.

OK, there is no pain but I could feel little lumps when I showered. I also sometimes notice little red spots on the tissue after I wipe.

I decided to inspect in a mirror and if I prise my cheeks apart I can make out a bump just around the hole, and I know there are more on the inside.

Thanks for all the replies and any suggestions guys

Thanks for the additional information.

The most likely cause is hemorrhoids. The top of the forum has a sticky called "All About Ass" that has some information about treating hemorrhoids. Most of the time you can treat them yourself with warm baths, a change in diet and over-the-counter medications.

If they don't improve with self-treatment then make an appointment with your family physician. It's a very common complaint that physicians see all the time.

Feel i may have something to add to this. I currently have an issue down there. I thought i had haemoriods (sp?) after finding blood in my stool and a lump. I went about 3 months using over the counter creams and products which helped soothe any itching. It wasn't going away so i went to the Doctor.

The Doctor advised me that i didn't have haemoroids but had ripped my anus at some point (Due to overly rough anal sex) and that when healing "extra skin" had formed down there, for whatever reason. I need to book an appointment to get minor surgery to have it removed.

The main reason i say this to you is that haemoroids are normally painful (atleast from what i've read) and you say it isn't painful. The only symptom is itching.

From what the doctor explained it seems the treatment for external Haemoroids and whatever i have are basically the same, small injection in the area, then a band is put round it, it turns black and falls off ( how sexy? )

***UPDATE***

I've just been to the doc and I have anal warts :(

well at least I know now

He gave me Aldara cream for it, which I will try but I've heard that it only has a 33% success rate in men.

This has to be one of the grossest STDs there is going. It's apparently one of the most common too, which really surprised me as you NEVER hear about it. Chlamydia, syphilis, etc. but never warts. Especially considering you can get it from safe sex.

Oh well...I'll try and update periodically for anyone who might be interested in trying out the cream. I'm also hoping I'll be one of those lucky ones whose warts just spontaneously go into remission

Unfortunately, they're a lot more common that most people realize.

They're particularly common in college towns and not just with gay men- there's a lot of women who have it and don't know until they develop cervical or oral cancers many years later.

The other troubling thing is that there are a lot of guys who are carriers of the virus but have no warts.
