Okay to leave computer on?

If you are using a live internet connection (no firewall, no router) you may find people using your computer without consent because you left it on long enough for them to 1) find it and 2) hack it.

I run two servers under my desk here at home but I have a properly configured network so I don't worry about it.
 
When I used a desktop, I turned it off at night just for the power savings. With a laptop, it's not as big a deal since mine only uses 60W, and way less when it goes into a low power mode. I leave it on since I'm usually downloading stuff at night, but would turn it off otherwise.
