Olympian Matthew Mitcham reveals he tried to ‘train himself’ not to be gay

This is old hat. Mitcham's Wikipedia page states "In 2009, Matthew Mitcham was the Chief of Parade of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras". That's 14 years ago!

If that's the approach we're taking, then we'd best do away with the Death List thread, as well as the Today in History thread. Those people and events must not be relevant. Let's just toss it all out with a "who cares", and move on.
 
Actually, maybe a post in the Today in History thread saying that in 2005 or whenever, Matthew Mitcham finally gave up trying to convince himself otherwise and accepted he was gay. It's something I think most of us have wrestled with at some point. The story in Pink News may fill some column inches, but it's not exactly current.
