On getting compliments...

I don't take compliments well. At all. No matter who they're from. I think I got that from my dad, because he's terrible at it too. I've noticed that if you compliment his cooking, he'll immediately find something wrong with it. "Well, the noodles should have been firmer" or "the vegetables didn't come out as tender as they should've". He never just says "Thanks - I'm glad you liked it." It's something I've tried to work on, but with only limited success.

So frankly, it doesn't matter what the complimenter looks like. My response is always "They don't really mean that. What the fuck are they after?" :)

I'm flattered no matter who it's coming from. It feels strange every time it happens though. An attractive girl I worked with took a pic of me and told me I looked "fine as hell" on the pic. It was such a shock because I thought I looked like shit on the picture.:eek:
 
of course its good if u find the other person attractive as well, otherwise its "ok thanks" if you dont find the person attractive.
