One Of The Most Amazing Performances On Film Ever

I just wanna say that I'm really diggin' seein' some of the younger guys here expressing appreciation for iconic figures like Barbra... a career brim-filled with highlights that's lasted over 50 years. Nice, sunoftheskye, very nice indeed. Thanks !

Yep I just discovered her a few years ago when I first saw Funny Girl and I've been obsessed ever since.

It's hard to believe there was a time when I was arguing with my dad that Britney Spears was better than Barbra Streisand (of course I had no idea who she was, I was like 13 lol)

You must not get out much ;) It was a good vocal performance for sure, but Barbra is definitely not for everyone. I've tried to like her so much and have seen her in concert, but I just did not enjoy her music. I could appreciate her talent but other than that can't stand the woman.

That's the scene that won her the Oscar.

I saw her play Fanny Brice on Broadway and, of course saw the movie about ten times when it came out.

It's one of the few times a movie was vastly superior to the stage production. (Except for the fact that Barbra wasn't singing live.)

I've loved her for more than 40 years and am certainly never going to stop doing so.

YOU SAW FUNNY GIRL LIVE ON STAGE??:eek::eek:

Lucky!

I'm so sad I'll never get the chance to see her live. :(

I think I would've pissed myself if I'd seen Barbra on a Broadway stage.
