OK, so I am a little behind the technology curve. I got an MP3 player for Christmas - a Sansa e200 or something like that. One of the things I want to do is to download individual songs to put on there. I don't listen to a lot, so I don't want something that is going to tie me into monthly plans just to be able to keep listening. Do any of the services allow you to simply pick a track, pay for it and download it once and for all so I can save as an MP3 and use it where ever?

In the US. Preferably Windows XP, but I can my hands on just about anything.

Oh, it's not a I-Pod, so I Tunes is out.

Use Limewire do u have a PC? Thats what I use.

I am actually looking for something legal. I am in a position that I do not want to (nor am I supposed to allow) install illegal file sharing programs.

You're in the US. Just go to the Amazon.com music store. The songs are about 89¢ a piece with no tax. Albums can be as low as 5.99 depending. They don't have every song out there, but their library is growing every day. Good luck.

Legalsounds.com is Russian based and it cost 9 cents a song. There is a loophole somewhere in the law so they are able to charge such a low amount. I love it.

They sell gift cards for online music stores. Do NOT use itunes for your mp3 player. I made the mistake of buying one hoping to use the music on my mp3 player and I can't transfer the music on to it. I had to burn a music cd then add it to my music libary, then transfer the songs to my mp3 player. Talk about a pain in the neck.
