I tried the previous version, but it didn't have the Russian spell/grammar check I need, so I went back to MS Office.

Used it since 1.1.3 or something. For being free its amazing!

I've been thinking of getting it recently. I've used it a few times myself, and liked it. Much better than what I do have...WordPerfect.
In fact, I think I'll get it right now as I'm thinking of it.

Ooo.

And I thought I wouldn't have anything to do at work tomorrow.

:D

I have had OpenOffice for two months now and I absolutely love it.

Downloading v3.0 now.

Awesome to see that more and more people are getting off the Microsoft tit. :=D:

It's a comparable product for much less money. Who wouldn't want that?

(there are things I'm not too fond of, though, e.g. the way it handles comments. I need to be able to select a word/sentence and comment on it, but Ooo always deletes the commented word and puts the comment in its place)

v3.0 doesn't have it any more - the notes in the margin took care of it. :)

lol, the amount of people using Open Office to MS Office is small. Mostly because college students can get MS Word for very cheap through their college and have never heard of MS Office. No one in my dorm uses OpenOffice nor have they heard of it. Not to mention businesses prefer MS Office over Open Office anyday. Mostly because MS Office can do so much more. If businesses werent using MS Office, they'd probably buy Mac's and use their iWork suite.

It's nice the older people enjoy it though.

I like Ooo better... Word and Writer are comparable, but what I really like is Ooo's Draw. It's the perfect combination of word processor and drawing tool. I didn't expect me to, but I find myself using it more and more.

Draw FTW!
