due to sensitive nature of this subject matter i've avoided this topic on my channel but i think it's time to share this message with people.

the mockery of gay men, of men who are "emasculated" silences male victims of abuse, agree? disagree? i've kicked this idea around in my brain for months, it seems like sound logic. then again when you smoke as much glaucoma medicine as i do, rational and irrational become a blurred line. but seriously, i don't think people quite understand that this environment isn't conducive to men being open about molestation or harrassment which only serves to protect the abusers. you gals are my sounding board before i embarrass myself saying somethig stupid.

@ 'gals'

Seriously?

It doesn't matter to you that that is considered a very offensive and abusive term to most gay boys and men?

Obviously the stigma around homosexuality has contributed greatly to the suppression of admissions about abuse.

It has also provided the abuser with a very effective enabling device for their abuse.

On top of the shame is a layer of fear of exposure and humiliation that helps ensure silence.

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking.

If you think that having to endure a large [homophobic] portion of the general population cheering for the abuser ("the faggot had it coming") is too much to take on top of being abused, and is probably best avoided by the abused by keeping silent, then yes, I agree.

precisely. we had a whole movement about ending sexual abuse and all the voices were women, there was, as per usual, a notable lack of color, gay men were virtually nonexistent. perhaps they learned their lesson from the online bullying unleashed on the that evil kween Bishop Eddie Long. when he was caught tricking church funds on teenage boys the congregation doubled down on support (continued throwing wads of cash at his feet during his sermons) and the victims, now adults, were slandered mercilessly as gold digging rhymes with maggots who were "fast in the behind."

in this environment it's impossible for anyone to come forward about abuse. it becomes a self-sustaining practice under the guise of silence.

*no, not silence, loud enthusiastic support for religious leaders or famous people who are exposed as predators. see: paterno, gaetz, gym jordan, deshaun watson, r kelly (who seems to have more fan twitter pages than any other human being ever in existence), pulanski et cetera.
