Saw "Babel" last night. It was excellent. I was delighted that the Academy have given credit to the wonderful performance by the little Japanese girl.

I'm also very pleased by Ryan Gosling's nomination.

However, the Best Picture nomination for "safe" films like The Queen, ahead of films like Last King of Scotland and United 93 is pretty sad.

And I'm disappointed Nicholson wasnt nominated.

Overall, a pretty decent year.

Well I can now add "Pan's Labyrinth!" ..|
My husband really wanted to see it because he likes "fantasy" type movies like 'Lord of The Rings"etc. but I ended up liking it more so then him.
He was expecting more of a fairy tale and as some reviwers have noted the movie has grossly been mis-marketed!!!
Overall I really enjoyed the movie but PLEASE don't take your children to see this film!!!!!!![-X

Brutally violent and disturbing in parts!

Just seen Little Miss Sunshine. Laughed to tears for the ending dance.

"I never watch a movie before writing a critic about... I could be influenced..." (that's almost an Oscar Wilde's sentence.... and that could be the perfect critic's watchword...)

... of course, Pan's Labyrinth is NOT for children... [-X

Poseidon is a remake they can do that?, .

Yes they can do that... at least, for Poseidon, the nomination is only for SFX... The Departed is a remake too... a not so good one, imo... and it's nominated for best movie... ewwww...

the movie has grossly been mis-marketed!!!

That's what I was talking about : if they sold you "Pan's Labyrinth" as a fairy tale, maybe it's because thay had not seen the movie yet...

Anyway... my english is awful, so maybe I misunderstood what you meant... sorry...
