It looks like it has been two years since there was a meet around here. Is anyone interested in having another one?

When would we want to have a meet?

Would we want to have it here in the Seattle area?

The last one was a couple of years ago in Portland.

Chris

Keep me informed. I could go north, or meet others here in Oregon.

If it was in the Portland area I would probably go. Seattle would be too far unless I had a lot of time.

As for when, I can change things if need be right now and maybe later as well. Other than that it does not matter to me.

I don't know where Cirdan is located, but the rest of us seem to be evenly split between WA and OR. Splitting the difference would put us in Centralia, but there isn't really anything there unless we were to meet at the outlet stores. I guess finding out where Cirdan is would be the next logical step. With it being July already, we're probably talking about late August or September.

This would be a great event if it can get organized... Travelling through the Pac NW doesn't have to be expensive. I have found in the last year or so that the AmTrak is a very effecient, economical means of getting from Portland up to Seattle and vice versa. The last time I went down to Portland I think it was a three hour trip and pleasant. The train ride was beautiful, I didn't have to drive or put up with traffic, it was as cheap as driving, no more expensive than Greyhound, and fairly comforatble.

I have no real perference between Seattle or Portland both are great towns and both have respectable public transit systems. In my humble view Seattle is a bit more lively than Portland, but I have had great times in either place.

I have not been to Seattle in years. I doubt I will be able to go anyways though.

Has all of the interest in this idea vanished? Because I don't want to expend the efforts setting something up if nobody is going to attend.

Just noticed the thread tonight for the first time. Keep me posted if you have one

If its held in Portland I would probably go unless I am busy. Anywhere else and I doubt I would want to go.

How many of us would be available for a Seattle Meet in about three weeks. The weekend after Labor Day? I am thinking about a Sunday afternoon meeting in Kent.

Your right, ABoyNamedSue. ...Only thing is, a lot of Americans think public transportation is beneath them. AMTRAK's good on the West Side of WA/OR. Buses are more available elsewhere.

Yeah, go green! Ride the rails and the buses.

Hey, anyone near Yakima or Cle Elum? What's the best way to search for locals on JUB? I'm not sure the "state" searches actually zoom in--certainly not to ZIP Code. :)

Not to mention that so many people on here don't give their locations, either. However, if a Seattle meet were to happen somewhat later than the weekend after Labor Day, chances are good that I may get there.

I *love* the West and especially the Northwest, and I will use any valid (or even any flimsy) excuse to travel there.

six..., if you find somebody near Cle Elum or a larger place nearby, you may be able to "Yak 'im up" lol

If there were to be a meet in (say) Seattle, Bellingham, Portland, Olympia, etc., I could probably do some of what you mention, myself, if I have a car. I've done some behind-the-scenes help in the past getting some people to/from meets, helping provide food, making a donation to the host, etc. I tend to arrive early, and I tend to be one of the last to leave (though if thad1527 gets to a meet, HE is usually the last one to leave, LOL). Seattle would be a great place for a meet!

I want to join in! I'm looking to have my first time with one or some guys! Im in Mt vernon area, willing to go to everrett or seattle
