Yesterday my husband got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer I assume it's in it's early stage but does anyone know the process of pancreatic cancer I would really appreciate it.

HELLO Robert.
First i am so so sorry to hear such bad news , did they manage to diagnose at an early stage ?

I would suggest that you Google Pancreatic Cancer , you will find some of the facts
and photo`s very distressing (sorry dude)

You will also find that it will answer the many many questions that you will have.
My thought`s are with you both . (*8*)

Thank you medic it's so horrible I've been crying and I can't take it emotianally. He needs my support but I cant take it

Well, you caught it early. There is a good chance that he might be able to recover from this disease. The only thing you can do is be emotionally strong for him and consider relocating to an area with the best oncologists in the nation.

So sorry to hear about your husband. Pancreatic is one of the least treatable cancers. Ask your husband's doctor about Whipple surgery. A friend of my parents had a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer a few years ago and had it. She's still alive and seems to be doing pretty well. Not everyone is a candidate, but depending on where the cancer is located, your husband might benefit.

Did the pathologist's report come back yet? What was it (i.e., stage I, stage II, etc.)? Did they mention where the tumor was located specifically in the pancreas (i.e., the head, the body, or the tail)? Some pancreatic tumors are localized and amenable to surgery.

What awful news Robbert....... :(
Depending on how you look at it, for better or worse, google is your friend.
I'm not going to attempt to paint a rosy picture.
About the best I can say is miracles do happen....... (*8*)

Chris is a strong man. It took me forever to tell him to calm down and just relax. It has been localized and he needs 2 surgeries and chemo he is scared. I always tell him he will make it but as a matter of fact I don't know it either and I never want to lose my husband. Bender we got married pretty fast it was really sweet. It's just so scary I don't want to lose him

Robbert , if they are talking Localised and mentioning Surgery then i promise
you that is a good thing .

Never under-estimate what may happen , Oncology has come along in leap`s
and bounds the last few years. You both take care . (*8*)

Has he lost a lot of weight recently? What's his mood been like? Are the whites of his eyes yellow? Has he experienced any pain in the middle of his back? Greasy stools? Is their a family history of pancreatic cancer? Does he smoke? Drink? Any history of pancreatisis?

"Pancreatic cancer" generally means adenocarinoma of the pancreas, and the prognosis is grim as it is rarely symptomatic until it has already metastasized. Smoking increases the risk by 25%, alcoholism by considerably more. 30% of cases are familial, like President Jimmy Carter's family.

If the scan shows no sign of metastasis, they will perform an exploratory laparotomy, and collect samples for biopsy from lymph nodes and the liver. If those are clean, they will proceed with a pancreatojejeunoduodumectomy, better known as 'the Whipple'. In English, they will remove the head of the pancreas, where the tumor most likely is, the duodenum and the antrum of the stomach, the most likely sites of micro-metastases, hook up the jejunum to the remainder of the stomach and the tail of the pancreas to the jejunum.

There are more benign cancers of the pancreas, like whatever it is Steven Jobs had. If he has one of those, don't be a fool like Jobs and seek out 'non-traditional' treatments. Had Jobs used a real doctor instead of a Crystal Healer, he'd be alive.

Chris doesn't smoke doesn't drink hasn't lost huge amounts of weight recently and is healthy his mood was fantastic before the cancer. His first surgery is today he is in surgery for one hour now.
