So I was reading on yahoo answers... just right now. Someone was talking about circumsizing their son's penis, when they have a son. I was totally disguisted when I read that, because 1. I didn't know it was possible. 2. I think it's cruel and abnormal. And then, many parents reply saying they got their son's circumsized when they we're little.. I was so shocked that so many people do it, and nobody disagreed with it. Another thing that totally disguisted me, is that parents replied with, it's much "better" looking, and "cleanier".. like how could you say that omg?
And someone even said, it's recommended in the BIBLE? WHAT?! I'm totally in shock that circumsizing your dicks is even possible.. and the fact parents do it to their sons.. Does anyone have more to add to this? Or more information? I would like to know more.. because I never even heard of this act.

Parents act like this is normal.

btw, is their any pros or cons about this whole thing, beside the "look" of the head?

Actually, from what I've heard, the majority of males are NOT circumsized. I think it's only very common in America, among Jewish communities, and the middle east, but I could be wrong.

The only reason I'm against it is because is the removal of something that is supposed to be there. It's not like its a tumor, or an extra digit, or anything, but something that all males are born with.

- muslims and jews are circumsized for religious reasons
- in the US it's more or less a "habit"
- usually there is no medical need at all, also no "hygiene" need

The idea that there are no hygenic reasons for it is not true. Uncut penis does require some maintenance. However, if you take care of yourself there's no reason to be circumcised but so many probably don't.

Fingernails require some maintenance. However if you take care of yourself there is no reason to rip them out.
So many don't clean their nails at all and it looks disgusting. However I have yet to see someone ripping them off for that reason.

I think circumcision should be mandatory! Eww.... I was uncut for 22 years, and HATED every minute of it. Life is so much better being cut, and there was NO sensitivity loss. If anything, it's better. Every boy should be circumcised. The world would be a better place. I only hope that if I ever find a guy to date and marry, he'll be cut. If he's not, I'll beg and plead and pay for him to get snipped.

I have to disagree 100%.
I'm not circumcised, but I love my foreskin and I love it on other guys. We were born with it. It's a stupid religious thing. If God wanted us to be circumcised, why the hell were we born with foreskins in the first place.

And it doesn't make a difference to hygiene, and you do lose sensetivity and it does get all dry and horrible. I don't really like circumcised penis's at all.

It was not a terrible or horrifying experience, I was awake throughout and had very little pain following. I have not had any loss of feeling or sensation and I do produce some pre-cum. No matter how clean one keeps himself with his foreskin there is a certain smell associated with it. I have been known to leave a situation when I found out that the guy I was with was uncut. Call me a snob, an ass, etc... but a foreskin is nasty.

Stop spreading bullshit. There are studies that say cut males are less likely to infect with HIV. However those are still doubted, since guess what - on the african continent, the one with the most infections almost everbody is uncut. But even if they were a 100% precise .. so what? It still doesn't make you anywhere near immune, and circumsizing everybody still wouldn't stop HIV.

First off, just because you like or don't like something, doesn't mean that it's the correct or proper thing for everyone.

Secondly, you didn't like your foreskin so you made the choice to have it removed. Nothing wrong with that - because you made the choice. But I didn't get to make a choice. My parents had me circumcised and I feel they had no right to.
