I agree wholeheartedly...But also pose this question....
If its so easy to be famous if your family has money, Why arent their more socialites out there making a name for themselves on TV/Film/Radio and Magazines?
Sure some probably arent interested in all of that, But there are plenty of wealthy people in this world who wish they could be a celebrity and arent. Paris has been very clever(apart from the record not doing so well) in handling the media and presenting an image. Sure a lot of people hate her, But there are plenty more people willing to buy into the Paris empire. She will be the one laughing in the end.
Well, when she's laughing, she'll be laughing at the idiots who bought into her, not those of us who still think she sucks.
I personally hate her because she's compeltely vacuous and oblivious to the world around her. Has she done any humanitarian work with all the notoriety, money, or other resources at her disposal? No. Why is Bono, a singer, so well respected? Because he goes out and uses his resources to change things. He convinced senator Jesse Helms to support HIV/AIDS support legislation in response to Africa. He does something.
If Paris were caught dead doing anything possibly considered humanitarian or selfless it'd be for the press. Case in point, Vote or Die. She jumped on, supported the Vote or Die campaign,d ropped a few airheaded 'It's Hott' comments and then when asked who she voted for she says...
"...Oh...I forgot to vote."
Did she really care about voting, the process, the symbolism, the power it affords the people of the country, about where voting took the fate of the country? No. She cared about looking good while supporting something that was being billed as 'cool'. Fuck that and fuck people like her.
Someone who buys their way into areas that should require skill aren't working hard, they're just getting other people to make them sound/look good--publicizing them as something their not. Their dreams get fulfilled by the money in their daddy's bank accounts, not by their own work.
Does Paris need to find someone to audition for? Does she need to write her own songs or work hard to be discovered or to learn how to fine-tune her instrument, in this case, her voice? Does hse have to do anything that a normal aspuiring artist has to do? No. Daddy Hilton can pay any company in the world to get her a contract and if it tanks, it's no sweat to him because he can pay anyone else off.
Want to know someone who IS doing all the things that Paris isn't? Her sister. She's kept a low profile, worked to get her fashion line up and running, etc. etc. She may not be starting from scratch, but at least she's applying herself instead of just flippantly choosing somethign she wants to be "good" at like her sister.
Nikki's been working for what she wants. Paris, looking at the quality of her craft, obviously isn't.
