If you've never heard of or don't follow Pasta Grannies...you life is only 60% complete.

These are some of the most life affirming cooks on earth...and they are the reason to sign up to Fascist Book or any other place where their short videos play.

And yes. They have taught me a ton. Including the fact that I will never be able to do by feel that they do after decades of cooking.

. . . I will never be able to do by feel that they do after decades of cooking.

That's the point.

Facebook: where there's always someone better than you. . so go buy stuff to fill the gaping hole that represents your worth as an individual.

I'm glad you learned stuff, though.

I think a travel show on PBS mentioned them a month ago, and showed them. They are the core of cooking heritage the world over.

Nothing will win me back to Facebook.

As has been pointed out though, all their videos are actually on youtube. The only thing with the FB connection is seeing when they've posted something new.

These are not pasta grannies. These are pasta gods.

In the video posted above, is it bad that when she dumped the flour and said "This is a kilo...." i expected Don Jr to jump out from behind the counter and shout "MINE!"???

Wonderful they are.

I was a Pasta Chef at a very well known busy Italian restaurant for 4 years. A lot of work. I had one assistant just shucking clams and one assistant just rolling mini mini meatballs for soups.

Did homemade fettuccine and 3-4 different ravioli from scratch. Along with the 2 favorites of Carbonara and Filetto Di Pomadoro. I had this beautiful Pasta storage room on the side of the restaurant with all my food items.

I would also make approximately 60 gallons of Minnestrone at a time. Great and awesome controlled chaos.

Not hard to deal with--just open a few hundred cans of Campbell's and add a few hundred cans of water! And that leaves you plenty of time for more important things. Like stuffing a cabbage!
