I thought I really sucked at FPS pc games. Maybe I do. Could be the fact that I am left handed trying to aim and shoot with my right.
What do y'all think?
I have been trying to adapt to the right hand world.

Reckon I hardly play FPS' anymore, I never had a problem being left-handed playing WoW or LoL. I use the mouse with my right hand and always have. I dunno if that is atypical.

Try Crysis or Mass effect 2. You will die many times. I do anyway. Even on the so called easy levels. Trying to get to the end of ME2. Going on 3 days now. This totally fucking sucks!!!!

It's ok...just a bit peeved that those who make these games assume that precision aiming by the
hand is what everybody does. Sorry to bust your bubble fellas and ladies. But I am more precise with my left hand.
I don't know how precise one has to be with WOW but a few of the games I play are pretty precise even on the easy levels.

I'm left handed and play fps' all the time I suppose you just get used to it however you could always get a left handed mouse I think razer makes one specifically for gamers as well.

I still refuse to bow to the rightie's. Making progress as a rightie. I think the game detects my suckedness as a rightie and is letting me go after dying several times...hehe. Taking a break though for tonight. At this rate I should finish the next level by the weekend.

Hmm chill dude :)

I am right handed. And I use the mouse with the left hand. :)

Sounds weird? Well when I started playing FPS it was with Dark Forces2 and later Duke Nukem 3d. Mouse aiming was more just "mouse looking". So I didn't need much precision and took my right, more agile hand for the keyboard.

Eventually Quake appeared and you needed real mouse aiming. But meanwhile my left hand was already used to it and I still play with it today. At my hardcore gaming times I played Unreal Tournament with some success, Tribes2 with big success (top leagues ..).

So it doesn't really matter what hand you use for what. It's all a matter of training. Just one important thing is: you need a symmetrical mouse. And depending on the game you need to move your keyboard a bit, so that you can use wasd with your right hand. Other games where you only need a few buttons that can be mapped to the mouse also can be played with the arrow keys. Or just get yourself a Saitek FPS Pro Gamer Unit Gamepad or if you have some more money to burn a Razer Nostromo Gaming Keypad. There is also one from Logitech but I forgot the number after the G :D

I'm left handed and I'm quite proficient with the normal setup of keyboard on the left and mouse on the right.

Do you normally use the mouse with your right hand?
Yes.

I think I have found a crude solution by changing the mouse sensitivity. Problem with that is you have to move the mouse longer distances. If I could just have a hot button where I could change sensitivity instantly...

Try a gamer pad like saitek cyborg. I love it and works well with me2, great game btw.

I thought I would suck since I write with my Left hand and I do everything else including jack off with my right. I kick major ass with FPS. Quake III Arena was where I was at playing all the time kicking ass with rail guns.

if it's one of your first few times playing, yes you will suck. FPS games aren't games anyone can just jump into, that's why they have a niche of gamers who will love them to bits, and people who can't stand them.

My tip is to stick to 1 game and if you're online, stay with the beginner servers. Once you start getting good then start branching out to other games.

If it's single player, play on easy mode first. No point giving yourself more difficulty than you already have.

I'm also a leftie who uses the mouse on the right hand side. Weird coz it's the one and only thing I do on the right hand side. It's funny because I always give my right handed friend shit for putting his mouse on the left side to play when he's right handed.

No big deal. I only paid 20 bucks for the game anyway.
I recently tried CRYSIS though and like it much better. Yes I know it's old but it totally rocks!
ME2 is way too RPG for me anyway. I prefer more FPS.
Games that play you more than you play them are just not my thing I guess. And did I forget to mention that there are no god mode cheats for ME2.

Mass Effect 3 (PC) to the rescue!
ME2 has grown on me a bit since last year. But ME3 I find far more enjoyable!
It has none of those annoying bypass minigames that I found repetitive and nervewracking.

I'm left-handed but I'm so used to using my right hand on the computer it feels weird to use my left. I wouldn't say I'm a gamer since I only do it when I'm not studying for school and don't have stuff to do with my husband but I've never had a problem with games and my left-hand.
