Hey Guys, i've been looking and i need advice, i'm used to using a PC but after so many problems i have considered buying a Mac, any surjestions?

my friend Josh gniksoh  says to buy a MAC but my other friend philly bear says i should buy a new PC with a big monitor.

i need your help!

p.s where can i buy a gay-dar from, PC world don't sell them :(

Listen to Josh with the Dyslexic Surname. If you have considered buying a Mac you must have a good reason and having done the same myself I don't regret it.

I would suggest if you know nothing about a Mac to go to an Apple store and try one. An iMac can come with a 24" screen, big enough for anything you might want to do. Remember you can run Win XP and Vista on a Mac also and you can switch back and forth between OSs.

Before you decide what to purchase, write down what you do on your current computer and what you would like to do on the new one.

Don't know what specific problems your having, but hopefully they would go away with your new Mac. Good luck!

Another capability to consider is that by adding Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion to your Mac you can run XP or Vista with your favorite PC applications on your MAC at the same time as the Mac Software and files are all available on both the PC and Mac sides too.

It really depends on what you'll use the machine for.

For people who primarily use their machine for gaming, then a PC is clearly better--why pay the slight premium for a Mac, when you'll be using Windows anyways.

If you just want a functional machine, to do word processing, surf the net, etc..., and you don't want to babysit windows, then a Mac is great. OSX is stable, functional, and yeah, it's pretty too.

I switched to a Mac last year, and I absolutely love it. There have been some slight glitches, but nothing that has been significant (unlike my Windows experience).

I switched from Commodore 64 in '87 to Mac and never looked back. My accountant wanted me to get a DOS box because of the amazing things he could do with it. Every time he tried to demo anything it crashed so I skipped the Microsoft stage entirely. Get thee to an Apple store and ask for a demo. Make up your own mind. YMMV.

Thanks Guys for the feedback, cheers OnionFries, never heard of linux.
