Penis/scrotum appears to be darkening at 22

I honestly do not think it is anything to worry about. When you went into the doctor for the STI tests did you ask them to take a look at see what they thought?

Hi there - no need to worry at all. Darkening of the penis/scrotum is a perfectly normal and is part of sexual maturation, the same way that growing pubic hair, deepening of the voice, lengthening of the penis are.

No, I didn't; I just noticed it this morning, but the doctor saw my penis when she did the swab, so I think if there was anything anomalous she would've said something.

As long as the pigmentation is even and not blotchy/patchy, it's probably a normal part of aging.

If the pigmentation were spotty or if it were just in the folds of the skin, then it could be pigmentation secondary to a fungal infection - usually tinea cruris.

I wouldn't worry in this case, but as a general rule if you're worried about something, ask the doctor, don't just assume they'll notice it.

When i was about 16 my penis darkened considerably. I'm 19 now and perfectly fine. I doubt you have anything to worry about.

If the darkening is even (no patches) you have nothing to worry about! Think of it as a free penis tan!
