Imagine the amount of crazy shit happening in the world right now, and this seems to be the thing CONSERVATIVES are losing it over. And the thing is, male cheerleaders don't even wear the skimpy outfits female cheerleaders do. Call me when he's wearing a halter top, and short shorts that ride up his ass so I can see his thong line and then I might be flustered. But in the meantime: there's a genocide, police violence, potential economic collapse, environmental disasters, and a wealth gap leading towards violence, but sure... a male cheerleader that doesn't even show leg is the thing that brings sky fall.

The implication that exhuberant cheering and encouraging of male athletes is somehow feminine behavior is idiosyncratic.

Macho weight lifters are fine with encouraging one another and pushing each other to excel.

I don't even think it's that the TV era has seen male cheerleaders diminished, as much as it is a hyperhomophobic searching for anything that isn't Bruh enough.

Through the 1940's and into the early 1960's cheerleading squads were coed. One of my favorite TV shows from childhood, "Dobie Gillis", would show male cheerleaders in classroom settings, very similar to the "Archie" comic book series with stories from Riverdale High School.
