Perturbed at what I saw at one of my doctor's offices today

At the start of this month all mask mandates were done in my state. It is now up to the office you are going to if they want to make you wear one.

Today going to one of my docs while checking in I noticed a stack of papers that were a medical review article of how masks didn't help (I am assuming just COVID, but I didn't pick up any papers to read).

I feel if they felt that strongly about it they should have put out the medical reviews before the mandate was done or not at all. Seems off to me they did it after it didn't matter.

Whereas it is possible that it's just a doctor trying to promote the findings now that the crisis has passed, it is much more likely he is a conservative who is virtue signaling in this time where there are too few opportunities to mention Fox News and Trumpian attacks on the present administration.

Of course, here in Alabama, all during the pandemic, I was in medical offices and invariably the administrative staff were not wearing their masks in their areas.

Odd for one to form an opinion on a medical article, or any other article, without even reading it.

Well, consider the fact that only one article and one point of view was promoted by presentation. That is something expressing a view and therefore valid for an opinion as to the nature of it being promoted in isolation.

That, and the likely absence of any other articles being provided the patients, ever, in a clinic's waiting room. No articles on treatment. No articles on prognoses. No articles on level of care provided. No articles on fair charging for services.

Just an article on the masking of the population during a pandemic.

The doctors does not seem as interested in health as it the political influence on health care, and only a single topic in that regard.

He is a nice guy, but he is all about Jesus and golf. That is all that is in his exam room. The others that work under him have medical posters and stuff.

I didn't. I formed an opinion on the doctor that owns and runs the office. To me it seemed he wanted it both ways.

First of all, there has to be history to study before anyone can make any such claim.

Did you happen to see the date the [alleged] review was published?

More importantly, it would be foolish of them/him to put such controversial information out while the mandate was still being enforced. Foolish and pretty much useless.

He sounds like one of those magic Xian cases.

If any doc believes in Jeebuz more than he believes in medicine and science....I would be looking for a better doctor.

All throughout the pandemic, it has been possible to cherry pick articles written by anti-maskers. The fact is, they have worked. And do work. Otherwise, they wouldn't be worn in surgical suites for the last 80 years or more.
