I scored 8 out of 10 also. I got the Chase and the Nigerian 419 scam wrong :(. I think I remember seeing that Nigeran 419 in my e-mail before but I don't really remember.

SSL Certs are there to give you a certain level of assurance and you can actually look them up to check their authenticity which I always do.

when i clicked no there i was almost sure that this would result in a point deduction. i was suprised that it didn't, and they are right. just because a site does HAVE a ssl certificate it doesn't mean anything :) you have to examine it carefully to see if the certificate indeed validates it as the website that it appears to be ;)

9 out of 10... Missed the amazon fake.

8 out of 10 here too.

I missed the Bank of America one, (not too surprised tho), and the SSL one.

8 out of 10. I missed Amazon and Chase, but then I didn't look that closely at the Chase one.

Noelie is right. I didn't do so well on the quiz but I never click links in e-mails unless I have specifically initiated an action and am expecting it in my e-mail inbox. I ALWAYS type in the url to go to site for account management, etc.

It was a nice quiz though, thanks!!

One of the things that gave the Paypal email one away is that they always put your real name down, at first glance it didn't say a name but if you look at the bottom it says:

*Note: Personally identifiable information has been removed from these e-mails.

And ofc the fact that you don't get messages through Paypal :p

10/10

Then again, looking at PayPal and eBay phishing emails and helping their victims is.. quite literally my job.. more the eBay side of things than the PayPal side.
