So I take it we aren't allowed to talk about piracy here?

It is fine to talk about piracy, but not alright to post pirated material.

The JUB code of conduct makes it apparent.

20. Do not share, ask to share, or link to Bit Torrent files or other pirated videos. It is not OK under any circumstance to share videos from any membership site that normally requires a fee to view the videos. This is expressly prohibited and repeated violations will result in your account being permanently closed.

Links to pirated material will be deleted, whether it be a blog or an actual file share site like megaupload, so it's not just a Torrents things.

Here is a message from one of JUB's owners on the matter about posting video clips.

Okay... so I posted a thread about a piracy problem, and it did not contain any links whatsoever, just issues I was having and some general questions about cracking programs, and it got deleted. What gives?

6a from our ToS

You agree to not use the Service to:

a. upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;

You were asking about and partly explaining unlawful activities - such as cracking an application. Which even IF you would own it, would be a DMCA violation.

One mod is saying it is okay to talk about it, another one is saying it's not okay to even talk about it. I did not provide any links whatsoever. I did not make anything available and I think you should maybe read your own ToS more clearly.

Anyways, I figured out what the problem was, so whatever, it's not a problem.

There is a difference in talking about piracy and offering instructions or even asking for assistance in breaking the law.

You have the wrong end of the stick. I meant talking about piracy and its legality or otherwise.

What you are suggesting is for others to share with you means to help you to pirate stuff. Now that is not on as mentioned above.

JUB members signed up to the terms of service to post on these forums, and you agreed to it. On the lower left of each message underneath the user's name etc is the link to the Code of Conduct. You should refresh your memory now by reading through it.

If so, you may be breaking the law if you do create pirated stuff.

Please do not hint at or distribute your 'work' here on JUB.

breaking the law is not covered by freedom of speech.

get used to it.

oh wait .. it always has been like that.
