I didn't know this until a few years ago but Mao Tse Tung used to drink urine....

And I watched a tv show a while ago that said that fresh urine was clean and sterile....
Go figure......
In fact that program said that if you were in a bad medical situation and needed to drink fluilds that you could drink your own urine or a partners and it would be healthful and life saving.
Of course the urine should come directly from the body, not put in a rusty bucket or any recepicle that could contaminate it.
 
To my knowledge there's no risk - not a doctor though... I suppose if one had an infection in the urinal tract leading to blood mixing with the urine, you could catch viruses.

Ingesting excrement on the other hand is NOT a good idea (and rather gross in my opinion). I remember hearing that it can lead to various health probs...
 
Urine IS sterile. No bacteria, or anything like that. Feces on the other hand is about 25% bacteria..... >_>
 
Depends! Drinking one's own urine (see ref to Mao) can't hurt, 'cause any "bugs" are yours to begin with. With someone else, one needs to know the health of the 'donor'. Urine is normally sterile. However, it is "waste product" (one's body has no more need for it) & if some "bug" is being jettisoned, it might upset YOUR system. I try never to "swap fluids" with anyone I haven't gotten to know first (gone are my youthful days of anonymous sex). Good Luck :wave:

generally the answer is no. Urine is generally sterile. However, I suppose if somebody has something like gonnorhea, it is possible to pick that up in the urethra on the way out. So I'd say let the stream go for a second and then enjoy. I don't know that there is any data on it though.
 
Drinking urine is not as bad as it sonds. I have drank my own urine a few times.
But I have not drank anther man's urine. :D
 
Not at all. Of course there are maybe some risks if you're drinking from someone whose health status you don't know. Hepatitis and other nasties can be passed through urine. So far it's uncertain whether HIV can or not. But drinking from a trusted partner or yourself is actually beneficial.

It's ironic, because urophilia is actually how I came to really discover my bisexuality. I found a site called Golden Boys USA. You should look it up on Google. They even have an article on male-male urine drinking, and what the benefits are of drinking from the same sex, and also the possible health risks involved.

As long as you and your partner are both in good fitness (i.e no renal or hepatic diseases), it is perfectly safe.

As for the theoretical mechanisms for spreading infection mentioned in this thread, again as long as you both are healthy, it is perfectly safe.
