What i meant to say is that all videos wont play right. The online videos look like a webcam on dial up, and the videos saved to the computer videos the video slows down and the video trys to catch up with the audio

They are avi videos

the computer may not be powerful enough to run both windows XP and the video files. do you know how much memory and what processor speed the computer is?

you could also try installing a video codec, but i don't really think that's the problem.
i use klite mega codec pack which you can get here (3 sizes basic, standard, and full):

It had windows xp before. And the videos work fine

i did the windows xp pause break thing and all i got

Is Intel (R) 4 cpu 2.20 ghz 219 GHZ.256mb of ram

the amount of memory you have for a windows XP machine is really low. you probably need at least 512 mb of ram. your processor should be fine.

what did you have on the system before XP? windows 2000 or windows Me or something else?

have you tried using another media player like DivX or another browser like firefox?
