Made this thread so I'm not hijacking the Vista Vs. XP thread.
I've mostly had this problem with not just Office 2003, actually when I installed Office 2003, I usually put only Word 2003 and Powerpoint 2003 on my computer without installing the other programs that Office 2003 has. I recently installed Frontpage 2003, but whenever I open the program it has that dumb Please Wait While Windows Configures Frontpage 2003.
After that window goes another window pops up, it constantly pops up and says that it's configuring it.
iTunes does this as well, when I installed iTunes I would open the program, it would say Please Wait While Windows Configures iTunes...Either Vista is really fucked up or maybe it's a common issue. My computer is up to date with all the Security Updates.
Also Noelie with what you put on the bottom I did do that, I put Custom and made sure everything was installed and it's still doing that Configuration window.

^ When you install any Microsoft software (especially Office etc.) and a few other's software you should select the custom install and then select the custom install for each item - then tell it to install everything first time round. That usually stops that message from coming up though it can also be caused by other issues.
This isn't my own screen shot (I got it off Google) but when you install software (IMO) you should never leave out optional extras in case you're asked for your CD later and can't find it (except with Nero which defaults not to install InCD which I think is a good idea).

^ There should be no red Xs or grayed out sections IMO - it makes life easier (again IMO).
Have a read of this:

And if you use Office 2003 you might want to consider using the enhanced installer.

I was going to get Dreamweaver CS3 but it seems to be hard!
