My ex bf went on a date with this guy who is HIV positive. I still mess around with my ex on occasion. He told me at first there was no sexual interaction. Then I just said to him today that if we are going to have sexual encounters with other peole I think it's only fair if we let each other know. Today confessed that he received head from this guy who has HIV and it was brief. He stands by his statement that he did not do any giving. He lied to me once so I don't trust him now. I feel betrayed freaked out I'm so scared with no one to talk to and I don't k ow if I would be at risk. Go get tested. Some county health departments will do it for free if you don't have the money.
Honestly though you don't have much to worry about if your ex was honest. Even if he wasn't it really would come down to which acts he did.

It's better to wait six months, but seeing someone is about more than just getting tested. They can help calm your mind if need be.
From what you wrote it doesn't really seem like you should be all that worried though. Talking to someone though in person can help you in the short term. They will just ask you to come back when it is six months if you go in before for another test.

6 months is not the standard time given now, don't put yourself through hell for 6 whole months for something which you absolutely have not contracted. There has never been a proven case i believe of someone catching hiv through oral sex, although theoretically it could happen. HIV isnot an easy virus to contract. In the uk, usa etc 3 months would be the norm after any possible exposure. Newer tests can tell if you have contracted hiv even sooner than this. You can get tested at any time as some people would show sooner than others.

Get tested at 6 weeks, at 3 months and then again at 6 months; That will completely rule out that you were infected.
If the guy sucking him didn't have any sores, bleeding gums or broken teeth in his mouth. then the risk is much lower that he infected him. . .but understand that THERE IS STILL A RISK, whereas there is none whatsoever with a person who isn't infected to begin with.
It's agonizing, frightening and depressing but the only thing you can do at this point is try to be patient and wait to get tested. It's more tempting than scratching a mosquito bite, but DO NOT nit-pick and analyze "symptoms" that may suggest you have the virus, or google them; all you'll read online are websites telling you "It could be something bad. Get tested to make rule that it isn't."
They HAVE To tell you worse case scenario on websites, because they would be liable if they said "Your symptoms are just the flu. You're fine, so don't go to a doctor."

Your relative risk is low- assuming that you only performed oral and didn't have receptive anal sex without a condom. And quite frankly, the time to be scared shitless is before you have an exposure.
You're both sexually active and not monogamous, so you should be getting STD testing (not just HIV) on a regular basis.
This sounds like a good time to get started with it.

NewGuy--I understand how scary this situation can be --especially if your ex has lied to you and all...there's 'trust' issues and also you can possibly be putting your health on the line.
Use portection with him, don't give him head or just avoid having sex with him. Also, Get tested!

get tested and know your stats on a regular basis and practice safe behaviors.
also just sucking should not put anyone at risk. Just because he was with someone that is positive doesn't affect him being positive. There are a lot of factors the acts they did and the viral load of the positive person.
