The Haddon Township Pride parade, set for tonight in Westmont, NJ, was cancelled due to the unhealthy air condition in Southern New Jersey.

I was disappointed. It wasn't a long or expensive trip for me, but I was looking forward to it. It may be rescheduled.

Haddon Avenue in Westmont was full of rainbows and was certainly festive.

I'm sincerely sorry for your disappointment, although it's surprising to learn that a bit of smoke has done what innumerable flamers could not. The irony.

Btw, how are you holding up during the air quality alert? Never have I seen anything like the air pollution in the northeast.

It's a real shame that Mr. Trump is not in office to accuse the Canadians of mismanaging their forests, as he did when California burned. Disasters seem a lot more human when those responsible for heading up our nation are not jumping on them to accuse opposition or to threaten cronyism with relief funds management. Good times.

Life is mostly going on as usual. Last night's Phillies baseball game went as scheduled. I'm headed to work now, but it's still hazy. From Norristown, PA:16863038096564367962862788653057.jpg

Thad, that's a great pic.

It's so well composed, it could have a caption and be sold as a print: Red Bull at Dawn.

The woman could be named Dawn

I was apprehensive clicking on this thread for fear that the event was cancelled due to threats from some Nazi group.

I suppose that the fact that it was cancelled because the sky is falling is the lesser of two evils.

Sorry.

We climate cultists in Canada apologize for the the world combusting.

There's a pridefest I .might. go to this Sunday... but there's also a pretty good chance of rain that day.
even if it doesn't actually get 'rained out' it wouldn't be any fun to go in the rain (or drive up there in the rain for that matter)
So not sure I'll end up going.

I was actually pretty tempted to risk the 80% chance of rain/thunderstorms and just go up there, because I do enjoy pride events...
...but instead I wasted the entire afternoon & evening in bed laid up with a migraine.
Being old & worn out & having to deal with that type of crap sucks.
(I wasn't even good enough to go video any of the rain/lightning that passed right over my area)

Sorry to hear of it. I hope you are feeling better now.
