Probiotics

They're not bad for you, unless you're eating Yoplait or some other ultra processed form of them.

What are you hoping to achieve?

Thanks.

I am having a lot of gut issues that my doctors can't or won't figure out. I thought I would give them a try. I bought the ones in the link, but have not got them yet. They are highly rated.

Well I certainly hope they work for you. If I was having gut issues though, I think I'd be pushing the docs to reach a diagnosis. Often, when they rule everything else out, what's left is IBS and the NHS blurb does say that probiotics can help with that.

I feel they do work. I do unsweetened oatmeal with a sliced banana and about a half cup of Fage greek yogurt on top every day. Seems to keep things running well.

Also I've had stomach issues once in a while but can usually alleviate symptoms by sipping some organic apple cider vinegar with mother. Not your father  2-3 teaspoons. Or add some into your daily food intake once in a while.

Even though technically it's not considered to be probiotic, I feel like it resets my good/bad bacteria ratio.

Hope you feel better soon. :)

I suffer with IBS sometimes and I find a couple of meals of high fibre like bran sorts it out

I've started drinking kombucha--fermented tea--primarily because I like the taste and the fizz. I've never had any stomach or bowel problems and it hasn't made any difference one way or the other. I've been eating yogurt since I was a kid.

I have had many tests done and they are still not sure what my issue is. All of the tests say I am fine.

I was told years ago I have IBS-D, but I also have a few other gut issues going on. I figure worst case I am out $14, best case my GI issues go away.

I have used them in periods when recovering from either food poisoning or a stomach flu, and they seemed to help.

Diet changes can often help cure diarrhea and loose stool.

Stay hydrated. Good choices include liquids with salt and sugar, such as juice and broth.
Eat foods that are easy-to-digest and/or binding, such as:
Potatoes
Oatmeal
Crackers
Pasta
Rice
Bananas
Soups
Salty foods (help prevent dehydration)
