I reformatted my computer desktop yesterday, and as far as I was aware it went through each procedure fine, and completed 100% successfully..

So I sat away at my desk, transferring data from my external back onto the computer (only program files, to save downloading them again), and after I restarted I got the following pop-up message:

As you can understand, after literally reinstalling XP less than an hour before this jumped on my screen, to say I am shock is an understatement, lol!

The last application I went to install was MSN.. or Live Messenger, whatever you want to call it these days.
Anyways, I went to install it, and it went and did just that, and when going to open it up I got this error message:

As you can understand, it's very annoying getting these two messages, after a fresh copy of XP has been loaded onto my system.
I've hardly ever had any problems with XP, so if anyone could possibly help me out to sort, and fix these two problems, it would be more than appreciated.

Thanks!! ..|

Ugh, so much effort :(
I grabbed SP2, but they wouldn't let me finalise the install, due to my copy of XP Pro not being genuine.. ahem !oops!
This is so frustrating - I really don't want to reformat AGAIN - Seeing as I only did it yesterday.
I've took a look on some warez sites, and all I can find with SP2 or SP3 is a complete install with a fresh XP as well...

I just wish my friend wasn't in Barcelona for 3 months, as I know the SP2 cd that he has works on my computer with my XP disc.

Dammit!

Thanks for replying by the way Noelie; Much apprecite, dude!!

What do you need to do with your computer?

If you can't afford another copy of XP or Vista, you should try ubuntu. It won't run very many Windows programs, but it will let you do most of the things Windows does, and it's free. It's also a whole lot easier to install - all the drivers are included and no WGA crap. Installs completely in about 15 to 20 min.

I <3 Warez, haha.. !oops! - Not that I download anything at any rate !!
Will check my comments N, cheers ..|

Ubuntu looks interesting - Checked a view screen shots of the system on Google and it looks like the Apple layout which is fine by me, seeing as I use Windows and Apple machines; Will have a deeper read into the product.

Some people drive standard gearbox cars because they like to control their vehicle.

Ubuntu

Some people drive automatics because it's simpler and they don't have to worry about shifting, clutch, etc.

I think this calls for this quote about windows and cars (I know it is old)

"If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:"

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines on the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn, would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Only one person at a time could use the car, unless you bought "Car95" or "CarNT." But then you would have to buy more seats.

6. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, reliable, five times as fast, and twice as easy to drive, but would only run on five percent of the roads.

7. The oil, water temperature and alternator warning lights would be replaced by a single "general car fault" warning light.

8. New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt.

9. The airbag system would say "Are you sure?" before going off.

10. Occasionally for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grab hold of the radio antenna.

11. GM would require all car buyers to also purchase a deluxe set of Ran McNally Road maps (now a GM subsidiary), even though they would immediately cause the car's performance to diminish by 50% or more. Moreover, GM would become a target for investigation by the Justice Department.

12. Every time GM introduced a new model, car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

13. You'd press the "start" button to shut off the engine.

For sure Jav..
Yeah, I've installed all properly now, and the problems seem to have disappeared.

And guys.. I didn't make this thread to start a war between Operating Systems.. Chill the fuck out!!!

Each to their own, and all that! ;) ..|

@ trawler69

I take it you've never driven a GM car.

It's not far from the truth.
