Problem with wire internet connection

I've reinstalled system at my computer, and then installed there stuff for my laptop its company offers at its site (I've downloaded it on another computer).
Then I've came "home" and found out that, while the installed wireless internet connection works sort of fine, the wire connection does not. It simply doesn't recognise its existance. If I enter the control panel and, then, web connections, it only shows wireless connection 2 (I have two programs for that, it shows only one here), and no wire connection.

I'd have re-installed the system again to see if I didn't screw something there, but I can't.
I'd ask Acer about it, but I can't. They demand my computer number and day of purchase to ask them about anything. And I live 350 kms from my home, and even if I were there, I wouldn't really know where I've put it. So I'm asking You.

I think it may have to do with the fact that there were LAN drivers at the Acer's site, but, unlike wireless ones, they do not have setup or anything, and I don't really know what to do with them.

there are 3 LAN folders from Acers, I'll attach one of them, perhaps someone could see and tell me what to do with it and if the lack of proper installation of it is responsible for my problem.

I have Windows XP
And sorry for being a dummy. Thanks very much to anyone who can help me

P.S.

I can't attach the LAN files, but I can link to them:

Does the 10/100 LAN Card show up in your device manager? ( That is in the control panel click on System and the third tab marked Hardware then click device manager.

Your network cards should appear under Network Adapters or other devices If it appears here it will show up as PCI device, If it does appear hi-lite it and left click select update drivers and point the update files from Acer The computer will do the rest.

The only thing that may impede this is if your LAN Adapter is switched off in the CMOS

thank You for your reply.

the LAN card doesn't appear to show up there. Take a look (it's in polish, but should be clear):

:(

thanks again

when it comes to LAN drivers, I've installed them, but that didn't make a difference

Have you tried right clicking on the "Kontroler Ethernet" (One with exclamation mark) and clicking on update drivers? And then telling it to look online (If you can with wireless) or look to where you downloaded the Acer ones. If you have just an exe then it may be possible that you downloaded the wrong ones. For some reason laptops with the exact same model number sometimes come with different hardware.

Thanks, I'll try the first part. I'm pretty sure I've downloaded right stuff, though; I've downloaded stuff for my Acer Aspire 5610.
Still, in one case I remember it told me there's some file missing, in other that the zip file is corrupted (I've downloaded it 20 times with the same effect) etc, but this was all about audio codec files or something, not about net services.
