I had no idea...
The eighth season of Project Runway begins July 29, 2010 with a special ninety minute premiere on Lifetime in a new time-slot, 9pm pt/et. Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, and Nina Garcia return this season as judges. Tim Gunn also will return to mentor the 17 competing designers, the most in the show's history.

Make it work!

Thanks for reminding me this was on! I hope it continues improving like season 7 did as compared to season 6.

Glad you guys are excited! I work with the network and just wanted to remind you to tune-in tonight...Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the premiere!

the girl who went home HAD to have done something to piss off the judges. there was NO WAY she had the worst outfit of the night. how about CasaBlanca or whatever, who sent Ariel from the Little Mermaid down the runway? Disgusting decision on the judges part.

oh boy. i just keep thinking, wouldnt project runway be much more popular if they would stop making such idiotic judging choices? i mean, i get why they wanted to keep casanova. his outfit was hideous, but he makes an entertaining reality tv character. but why not send home ivy, nicholas, or jason?

hmm, actually, i feel bad about starting with a complaint, when i kinda love this show. i just think it could be much more than it currently is by having a little more artistic integrity.

no favourite designer yet, the results were truly underwhelming. early likes: gretchen, andy, mondo. early dislikes: ivy, april, jason. hot: AJ. lets put him together with wesley nault and danny v. and film what happens if they think no-one is watching ^^

LOL, that would've been hot indeed. It's just that I think Wesley Nault is still together with Daniel Feld, another designer from his season.. But I guess we can still dream :D

Gretchen reminds me of Leanne...they're both from Portland and seem kinda alike. That said, I loved the outfit she created in 5 hours from the crappy article of clothing she was given.

I'm from Philadelphia and am rooting for my homegirl Kristin, too. And I get good vibes from Christopher. Michael from California has personality plus, too.

Glad to hear you guys watched the premiere, what do you think about the new 90 minute format? Don't forget to tune in for episode 2 tonight, there's a preview one our site right now - it's going to be a dramatic one!

rowr, the bitch-pants are ON! is it just me or are the designer talking more trash about each-other? i love it!

well, the judging was ok, i guess. i would have given the win to mondo, and i really dont see what was all that special about valeries or gretchens designs. quite frankly, im a little underwhelmed so far by the outfits sent down the runway.

everyone in the bottom three deserved to go home. nicholas is sweet, but his clothes so far have been crap. peaches outfit was just soooo wrong. jasons "outfit" was hideous, but if i was a producer, i would have kept him, just because hes so fascinating to watch. seriously, that guy is mental.

who else should have gone home: ivy. god, that dress was boring. after last weeks granny-pants. and i cant stand her hyper-driven personality.

shoulda been in the top: michael drummond. although granted, it was very short, and he let the fabric do most of the work. still, a fab outfit on a underwhelming runway.

redeemed: april. she appears to be human, after all. and her design was kinda interesting.

aj: nasty little bitch? the previews made it look that way. please let it be so.

I saw the show tonight, it was alright..funny that they weren't officially on the show when they started. I didn't agree with elimination though, and the 5 hr challenge was stupid, everyone had ugly clothes. So far no favorite designer yet, hopefully there won't be stupid twists on the challenges and the designers can make decent clothes.

Yes I hate challenges that pretty much guarantee lots ugly clothes.

I liked Valerie's red dress better, particularly the collar. And I think it would have been more attention grabbing on the billboard. But Gretchen's design was very nice as well.

Jason's departure was one week overdue after the kimono fiasco. Poor Nicholas! A tranny hot mess. And Peach soesn't seem to have a clue about how to create a concept. She also seems to design "older" which won't help in most of the challenges.

I was in tears after they let the gay guy go this week.

The gay guy? <lol> As if he was the only one gay guy on PR this season...

He (Nicholas?) had the saddest puppy dog face I've ever seen on anyone leaving the runway and then he burst into tears backstage!

I agree; it was sad seeing the poor guy fall apart like that, and I don't think he deserved to be sent home over Peach, whose dress looked like a junior high sewing class project.

I really hated all of Jason's excuses....his model isn't a runway model, he's a straight guy in a gay guys world, he's not a prototype master(or whatever he said).....his clothes were freakin' ugly....I'm sure his menswear stuff is fantastic....but he should know that they usually only have one menswear challenge and they don't ALWAYS have it.

tom & lorenzo of project rungay fame have a massive rant about jason:

And worst of all, WORST OF ALL, KITTENS, he had the nerve to say this upon receiving criticism from Tim: "I'm a straight man in a gay man's world," and therefore Tim should cut him a little slack.

No he didn't!

Listen, asshole. When you are barred from marrying, adopting children, serving in the military, visiting your spouse in the hospital, or even joining the fucking Boy Scouts, you get the right to whine about how unfair life is. When packs of gay men go around taunting, beating and even killing straight men, you get to whine about how unfair life is. When political parties use you as both a punching bag and a fundraising tool without ever doing anything to improve your lot in life or even ensuring that you have basic civil rights, you get to whine about how unfair life is. When Tim Gunn points out your piece of shit dress is a piece of shit dress, you thank him for the critique, get back to work, and try to salvage the mess you made.

Gretchen's clothing are so plain and matronly. The judging is so wacky this season. I wish the show had stayed on Bravo. Lifetime here is not in HD and it looks terrible. No wondering the ratings are down. BAH!

Don't forget to watch the third episode tonight.. Betsey Johnson is the guest judge and the dresses have to be made of party favors (very fitting).. It's sure to be a good one!
