"Prom Night!" (2008)

I just can't get into it. Was the original any good (worthy of a remake anyway)? But I think the story is different.

It could be interesting (which I doubt)...I've never seen a PG-13 slasher film before

The original wasn't that good and I don't remember it that well. But it doesn't look like this remake is gonna be faithful in any way.

It looks like yet another bad slasher flick. I was annoyed at all the screaming after the trailer, so there's no way in hell I'm going to watch the real thing.

And how come everyone looks like they're in their mid 20's?? High school my ass.

Wow, I'm so cynical, haha.

I cant wait for it!! I been reading about it online for about a year now. Brittany Snow looks like she does a good job as a main leading role.

From what I've read, it's a remake in "name only". I saw the original upon its initial release while in high school and it wasn't very good. The market was flooded with slashers back then and I'll bet I saw 'em all. Jamie Lee Curtis and the cheesy disco music were good in the original but that's about all.

I may go see this one.

the story sounds a little more interesting than the original. what's gonna suck for this movie though is the PG-13 rating. personally though, and i know it's a "classic" but i really can't see this one being any worse than the original. it was so bad that i think i've actually blocked it out. just watched it for the 1st time a few months ago, and i don't really remember anything except wondering to myself why i was still sitting there watching.

I had the same thought about the screaming. You're not supposed to notice it; it was cringe inducing.

The fact that it's PG-13 means they could've got people like Miley Cyrus or whoever that is actually IN high school rather than the 25+ year olds they found.

Didn't look interesting what so ever, but knowing my friends and myself, I'll end up seeing it with them.

This movie looks horrible. The trailer alone fails miserably. Not only is it overlong but wow-- boring!!! I am not looking forward to seeing this at all. It will be a definite "netflix" renter when I have nothing else to choose from one night. The original wasn't that great but I have a strong feeling it isnt anywhere near as bad as this remake will be. What is with all the pg-13 remakes ? "When a Stranger Calls"-- original was great!!! it was psychological, creepy-- a lot of buildup... they remake it and turn 10 minutes of the original film into a full legnth snooze-fest. "The Fog", "Black Christmas", " etc etc... sooo many bad horror remakes out there. Stick to the originals. I am just waiting for them to go forth and remake Cujo or Poltergeist or something now... I draw the line!!!

I'm just waiting for them to remake Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist. Those seem to be the only two big horror films that haven't been touched yet. Everything else, from Psycho to The Omen to Texas Chainsaw have been remade, with awful results. They're even remaking The Birds for fucks sake. ?!

did u see the sequel to the original? "When a Stranger Calls Back"?

The original "Prom Night" was Okay, this looks like garbage, why must they make it PG-13? you're almost asking for a box office bomb when you give a slasher film that rating, lol, When i was 15 i was into Horror Movies big time, lol, I thought Terror Train (Another Jamie Lee Curtis Slasher Flick) was way better than the original Prom Night, lol

haven't seen Psycho or Omen remakes but i actually really liked the TCM remake.

Crazy stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!Looks like a real thriller...............

yep I saw the sequel. It was a made-for-tv film if I remember correctly. Even it was much better than the new remake!

Lets just all stick to the original Carol Kane version.

i still haven't sat through the entire remake. the original though, the 1st 10-15 minutes were good, but the next 50 minutes or so kinda made me wanna kill myself. the end was good.

what kinda sucks is that they're still talking about a sequel to the remake...

Lol, the trailer was kind of funny. The main actress.. don't know her name.. screams the exact same way everytime something happens, and something happens, like, 5 times in that trailer to her.
