This is an update. Three months ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was discovered through a biopsy after my PSA level had a sight rise. One month ago I have robotic assisted surgery. Today, at a doctor's office visit follow-up my PSA level is at zero, which is great news. Sometimes cancer escapes the prostate and radiation therapy is required after the surgery. Having the zero level reading means that there will be no radiation for me. So, after a big sigh of relief, my partner and I are ready to celebrate the holidays.

The lingering issues ought to improve over time. Those include difficulty with erection and some urinary leakage. Not exactly a fun thing to report, but it is honest. Both Side effects should improve. The key is now I'm a cancer survivor. I'll be tested every six months for a couple of years in order to be sure there are no escaped prostate cancer cells.

I'm happy and ready to come out of my self-impossed protective fog.

Thanks to all who have offered support these few months. To any who may face this in the future I wish you also have a positive outcome.

Congrates!!! So happy for you... It must be very nice having a partner to go through these things with....

Enjoy the holidays!

What was your PSA level changed that prompted a bio?

It must be a huge relief to you. Congratulations and enjoy the holidays.

Great news ..|

Enjoy the Holidays

I am extremely happy for you and reading your post put a smile on my face. I hope you enjoy the holidays. (*8*)

Thanks so much to all of you. It does my heart good knowing that people feel good celebrating the good news of someone else.

To answer the PSA question, it had been going up over the last couple of years. It was over 4 when the biopsy was ordered.

I really like my urologist. Friendly, down to earth, matter of fact and on a mission to get my body working again. My partner has been a champ. We've got some work to do regarding our sexual relationship as we've had our defined roles all these years.

Life is good. Looking forward to the next chapter of my life.

I'm grateful for JUB.
