Hi,

I have a serious HIV scare after I had anal sex yesterday with an escort (me as the bottom). We used a condom and my own lube but he had a thick dick and the insertion was painful. A bit later we changed position and his dick slipped out my ass. At that point he noticed that there is some blood on the condom. We stopped immediately, and jerked off (he cummed on my chest).

What do you think? I will get myself tested after 6 week in a local hospital (I do this once in a year regularly). But I still worry about the whole thing... Am I in danger?

Hi dude. Sorry to hear about your scare. If you were having protected sex there is nothing to worry about, blood or not. Good thing you get tested regularly. Nothing out of the ordinary here as far as I'm concerned.

As I understand, he had not yet cum, and was still wearing the condom when his dick slipped out. Perhaps some pre cum inside the condom. If so, you should be mostly safe. I think there are usually small abrasions in the anus, so the important thing is to avoid his liquids. The bleeding is not as important as avoiding his liquids.

If the blood was on the outside of the condom, it means it was your blood. Given that there was pain, you just got a bit of irritation to you anus from not being relaxed enough when he dove in.

Assuming that the condom was intact, it still qualifies as a moderate to low risk encounter.

Yes, I worry about precum and how much protection the condom really gives (are there any small breaks or something like that).

The risk wasn't the condom- those are reliable. The bigger risk was the escort.

Great thread. Important questions quickly answered by knowledgeable, caring guys from around the world. JUB at its best! Hope your fears have been allayed.

Yes, thanx indeed. Obviously I will get tested but I try not to worry about it until then.

Assuming that the condom wasn't broken you weren't really at any risk. But do you see why having penetrative sex with guys you're not dating can be potentially really risky? All that's protecting you is a rubber sheath that can break. It's happened to me twice with guys that I didn't know at all and scared the crap out of me.

I don't do this regularly. Last time was years ago. Now I used a Lifestyle ultra-safe condom but I realised that ultra-safe in this case doesn't mean plus safety for anal only spermicidal lube against pregnancy :(

Yes, I have found the info on the net. That marketing is a bit strange for me. Of course there are more straight people than gay but I still don't get how "ultra safe" can be not safe at all.

Well you can't really estimate which of the many condoms that you will use in your lifetime will break. the point is to not wind up in a scary potentially life changing situation over a hookup. you know what i'm saying.
