Purple edge on head of penis.

Hey guys, just wanted to get your opinions on something. I'm uncircumcised and when I'm erect the back edge of the head of my penis (edge facing me) goes a purplish colour. It's sometimes like this when I'm semi-erect, but more often when fully erect.

I used to have phimosis but after stretching for a few months I'm pretty much over it, so I'm thinking this might have something to do with it, even though my foreskin doesn't feel tight.

Is anyone else like this, or know why it's like it?

As far as I know it is perfectly normal. I have one of those myself.

Your dick gets hard because a band of muscles cut the back flow of blood away from the penis. Your dick get engorged with blood. The pressure probably makes it turn purple. If you've ever put a rubber band on your finger it's the same principle.

i believe he means that the edge has a slightly different color than the rest of the head.

this is also perfectly normal when you have a very "strong" erection, the colors should be more similar, and when flaccid everything should have the color of the head.
the only way your phimosis might influence this is when your frenulum still is a bit short, and tightens the penis head's skin.

While I'm at it, I have another question. (yeah, i know) I was wondering how far exactly your foreskin should be able to retract. I can get it past the head (as you can see in the above picture) but it only goes a a little bit below that, kind of bunches up and won't go any further. My frenulum gets tight when I try, so I'm guessing it's frenulum breve?

This is while I'm erect mind you, when soft I can retract it the whole way without problem.

Thats normal too. Only guys who have no frenulum at all can pull it totally taut along the shaft. It will always reach a point where the frenulum will stop the foreskin sliding back.


Also the purple stuff question. Thats not just confined to uncut guys. It can happen on ANY penis. The foreskin and the corona changes during erection are unrelated.
