It still amazes me how people can still judge a person because of there sexuality.
Today a colleague of mine says to me, "Jared, I need you to please call this guy from [Software Support Company] cause he is saying we can't get another registration key for the software package until we upgrade. I don't know what the hell he is talking about and he sounds queer so he is just getting on my nerves, you better speak with him."
WTF?
He doesn't know I am gay, but still, what the hell does being gay have to do with the problem he is having? I just bit my lip and shut up. I then called the guy at the software company and spoke with him. He was very friendly, and after he explained the procedure, I understood what he meant about upgrading. I'll admit, he did sound a bit fem, but he seemed like a very nice guy. So it seems that straight after my colleague thought he sounded queer, he tuned out of the conversation and everything the poor dude said after that went in one ear and out the other, just because he is GAY!!!
It is just very sad that people's perceptions of other people can change completely as soon as they find out or even think the person is gay.
