Question: do some people find ungroomed guys or gals sexy?

I am not hating. I swear.

From time to time, I run across someone posting their pics. Looks like they just woke up. Random strands of facial hair. Their hair is a total mess. Again, just got out of bed kinda look. Or may be just done meth.

Then I look at the comments and people are going wild. Comments like "omg so sexy".

I don't want to post any pic as example because I just know I will be labeled as hater.

I have always thought that properly groomed makes one sexy. Does looking like a mess also make one sexy?

Russell Brand has been voted PETA's sexiest vegetarian of the year three times. I'm not sure what that tells us.

I think it tells us that there's a difference between looking ungroomed on the one hand and looking like one has been dragged through a hedge backwards on the other.

Very much so.
I also find guys who obviously spend too much time in the gym a turn off. Someone once told me that that type of person will only ever love themselves
I believe that is true. Vain people are best avoided, as lovers or friends. Look what vanity has done to the conman who is currently ruining America.
It is a sign of self obsession, a most undesireable trait. The kind of magnetic sex appeal that makes certain lucky men irresistable is always there, no matter how wasted he looks, it is intrinsic.
You can put lipstick on a pig and you could smarten up Russell Brand but he would still be an utterly unattractive person.

I love natural-looking, clean but slightly 'scruffy' guys. Overgroomed is a turn-off for me.
For example.

The hair is not just a mess. It is oily. He hasn't washed it in a while. The facial hair... you can see uneven strands.

And the Russell Brand picture is not even close to what I am talking about. You can tell he actually takes care of himself even if he has long hair and beard.

So you couldn't resist posting his pic?

I don't know why people generally post pics but if I don't find them attractive, then I move on. There are a lot of reasons why guys don't exercise a lot of self-care, including depression or just plain disinterest in preening. I don't know enough about the guy in the pic or where or why he posted his pic on line.

But one of my acquaintainces from long ago had a thing for scruffy young guys...he had come from a very wealthy family and was pretty fastidious.

One man's trash is anothe man's treasure.

Well, I felt that people weren't really understanding what I was saying. They even posted a picture of someone as an example of a sexy ungroomed man. But look at him. He may not have brushed his hair straight, but by how even his beard is and his hair style, you can clearly tell Russell Brand takes care of himself.

On the other hand, someone who hasn't washed for days or weeks, you can clearly tell. The hair is oily and stick together in clumps. On the face, there are random strands of hair growing unevenly. Looking at the skin, there's a layer of grease. Again, it's obvious. I am an inarticulate person. And I can describe those things. Imagine the smell...

I'm sorry. There's a difference between natural and just plain ole unwashed/ungroomed mess.

The picture I posted is just an example. It's totally random public picture. I am seeing more and more of these pictures these guys and gals posting on sex sites and people just drool over them. Like, dude, I can see a 2 inch layer of grease on their skin. The greasey hair is all clumped together. That's not sexy. That's just not washing and taking care of yourself for weeks.

If you caught him looking like that at my house you'd know that I'm very unhappy that you have interrupted us. Go get your own.

And that body oil, and stuff;);) goes everywhere.

I guess the answer to the original question is yes, some people do find what I am describing as sexy. Which is why I am seeing more and more of it online.

Your example of grubby looks like a cute guy. He does look like he needs to wash his hair but ya'know? If I go to bed with wet hair right out of the showe my hair looks like his. But brown, not black. The whiskers? Maybe he wants to see how it looks.
Maybe he's been working outside all day?

I don’t see any pictures so tough to risky understand the OPs definition of not kept up…but I’ll offer there is something cute about guys with bed head. Kinda triggers those moments of intimacy waking up with a fella after a fun night. So yeah I’ll often find bed head or other slacking on upkeep sexy. And even guys who are sweaty can turn me on…hell in person I probably have checked out more guys in the gym than any other place. All of that though is way different than my definition of filthy.

Hmm, is there some transactional element involved here? As in, you're debating whether it's worth asking an unwashed guy to put his dick in your mouth in exchange for another month in the apartment?

Messy hair on a guy can be kinda hot to see .. but has to be the right type of hair & right guy.

I'm not a fan of facial hair in general, and especially the 'forgot to shave for a week' look.

There is a huge difference between casual and groty. I see a lot of people like Russell B. who appear to be virtue signaling an anti-traditional hygiene, including pothead trappings. Russell's hair intentionally broadcasts he has several untamed shrews up there.
