i'm looking for a way to drop 10 pounds quick for a race tomorrow. i expect it to come back because i know you can't lose 10 pounds of fat in a day and plan on losing the rest of the weight slowly over the next 2-3 months or so. any ideas?

drink nothing but fruit juices and water. don't eat anything. the fructose in fruit juices should give you energy.

Erm... what could you possibly need to lose 10 lbz overnight for? If you're hoping for a performance boost, you're not going to see it. Chances are, with that rapid a loss of weight, you won't feel well.

I thought you might be a rower or cox, gangineer. I guess it's too late now, but you might have been able to shed a couple pounds of feces if you took some laxatives and/or did a colonic. And you could have sweated some water by doing lots of cardio. You can't really lose fat or body mass in a day unless you have a very high metabolism and you stop eating for a couple days. But it doesn't really matter. 10lbs isn't going to get you a boatlength or even a bow ball unless of course it affects your crew psychologically to know exactly how much you weigh.

i still have 24 hours. but they don't care too much right now. by the end of the season they will, though.

You could lose the weight in a couple weeks healthily and keep it off all season. That's not too hard to do. If you dip too far below, it's a lot easier to gain and get rid of temporary weight just before weigh-in than it is to lose body mass. Do you workout with your crew on land?

I run, mostly. I erg with them sometimes, but I find it hurts my back, so I tend to avoid it. But weight's been coming off, just couldnt get quite down far enough in time.
